fatty-acids3People are a bit scared of fat aren’t they? It is a macronutrient and essential for a healthy diet, so here are a few basic points about fats to get you started:
– fats are part of our cell membranes and provide the body with insulation and cushioning
– fat provides an excellent source of energy, without spiking blood sugar
– it is essential for the absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K

As with anything, it’s good to strike a balance with your fat intake, as too much of the wrong kind or too much in general is likely to have deleterious effects
